The programme is the first in the united kingdom to be accredited by the BIFM. On successful completion of the postgraduate certificate and diploma students will be allowed exemption from part 1 and 2  written examination of the instituite . Students may then gain the fromal BIFM professional qualification in facilities management through the submission in accordance with the instituate.The changing nature of work and relationships between people technology and their surrounding has created the demand for managers combing skills in human resources technology and property. They are known as facilites management. As a professional disciplines facilities management has a critical role to play in the strategic and management of organisations from office and hospitals to university and leisure centres. As an academic subject facilites management is regarded as management discipline requiring a careful integration of social behavioural and business topics with those of a more technical nature ranging from the procurement and use of technology and building to the setting up and management of projects and services.
